Biography
Fernando Gonçalves is Assistant Professor (Adjunct) at the Department of Mathematics, ISEG - School of Economics and Management, University of Lisbon, Assistant Professor at Universidade Europeia (Lisbon), and Researcher at CEMAPRE - Centre for Applied Mathematics and Economics (Lisbon). His research interests are in financial mathematics and numerical analysis. He received a PhD in Mathematics and Statistics in 2007 from the University of Edinburgh, for his work on numerical approximation of PDEs arising in financial option pricing. From 2008 to 2012, he was a Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia Postdoctoral Fellow at the Mathematical Sciences Institute, Australian National University (Canberra, 2008-2009), and at CEMAPRE (Lisbon, 2009-2012). He joined ISEG in 2011. Presently, he participates in the project STRIKE - Novel Methods in Computational Finance (2013-2016), with funding by the European Commission, The People Programme - Marie Curie Initial Training Networks - FP7-PEOPLE-2012-ITN (grant agreement no. 304617).
