Biography
Edirlei Soares de Lima has a degree in Computer Science from Universidade do Contestado (2008), a M.Sc. degree in Computer Science from Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (2010), and D.Sc. degree in Computer Science from Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro (2014). Currently he is Assistant Professor at Universidade Europeia / IADE. From 2009 to 2010, he worked as a researcher at LaCA/UFSM in the area of computer graphics and interactive storytelling. From 2010 to 2015, he worked as a researcher at ICAD/VisionLab/PUC-Rio, where he conducted research in interactive storytelling, games, artificial intelligence and computer graphics. From 2011 to 2015, he was a aggregate professor at the Informatics Department of the Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro, where he teached courses on artificial intelligence, programming techniques, and game programming. From 2014 to 2015, he also worked as a substitute professor at Universidade Federal do Estado do Rio de Janeiro, where he teached courses on programming techniques and games. From 2015 to 2018, he worked as a adjunct professor at Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (UERJ). During his career, his work and research received several awards and honors. In 2010, he won the indie game development festival at the SBGames 2010 (Brazilian Symposium on Computer Games and Digital Entertainment), and received two honorable mentions as the "best art" and the "best technology" with the game "Krimson". In 2011, his research on video-based interactive storytelling received an honorable mention on "Innovation" from the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in the 1st ITU IPTV Application Challenge. In 2012, he received another honorable mention from the ITU, at this time on "Interactivity" in the 2st ITU IPTV Application Challenge. The ITU is the United Nations specialized agency for information and communication technologies.
