Biography
She holds a degree in Design, Industrial Design (1995, IADE), a Postgraduate degree in Product Design (1996, Glasgow School of Art / CPD) and a PhD in Production Engineering / Industrial Design (2008, UBI). From 2004 to 2007, he was awarded a doctoral fellowship under measure no. 5, action no. 5.3, "Advanced training of teachers in higher education", integrated in axis 3, Operational Intervention Learning Society Education (PRODEP III). She is Assistant Professor at IADE - Universidade Europeia, PT, member of the Scientific Board of the same University, senior researcher of UNIDCOM /IADE (R&D unit), and coordinator of ID:Co.Lab - Collaborative Research Lab in Design, Innovation and Sustainable Development. She is also collaborating with Brazilian LOGO/ UFSC, ECOAR/UFRN Research Labs, and Cypriot Art + Design: eLearning Lab-Design for Social Change from Cyprus University of Technology (CUT). She is the director and lecturer of the curricular units of Research, Design and Innovation, Research Methodology, Design and Innovation and Design and Sustainability and Production Design and Integrated Project II and III. Currently, she is a Postdoct Research Fellow in the field of Social Design at CUT (http://elearningartdesign.org/about-us.html) and, since 2018, an associate member of Synthesis – Center for Research and Education. She was President of the Scientific Board and member of the Pedagogical Board of IADE-U, Coordinator of the Degree in Design, Executive Director of UNIDCOM / IADE (R & D unit) and Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors of ESADE / IADE. In the period between 2013-17, she coordinated and /or participated in more than 10 Research, Development and Design (I&DD) projects, through collaborative processes with various academic and civil society entities, such as IST, FSCH, UMinho, Uveiro, UÉvora, UExtremadura, IPT, IPS, IPB, IPCB, Municipalaties Santarém, Beja, Évora, Lisbon, Fundão, Local Development Organizations, Companies and countless other national and international stakeholders. Of the various projects, the "Project L3 - Lisbon Common Learning Laboratory", developed in collaboration with the IST and FCSH, financed by Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation under the "Innovative Projects in Higher Education" Program, and which involved approximately 415 students of several scientific areas, three cycles of studies and more than 15 partners of civil society. Also in this scope and as a result of these participatory processes, he helped in the constitution and represents the European University, as a founding member, in the Competence Center of Wool (CCL), in the Competence Center of Organic Agriculture and Products in the Biological Production mode (CCBio) and the Iberian Brotherhood of the Tagus (CIT). She is co-author of scientific papers published in indexed journals and more than 25 published scientific papers, with blind peer review, in various scientific supports such as International and National Conference Proceedings. She is the co-owner of a European Register of the Design Model "Figueira Memory". She has successfully supervised 4 PhD Theses, 20 Master Theses and 3 laboratory internships in the area of Design, in partnership with companies or other organizations. At present, she orients 6 PhD Theses, 3 of them in international collaboration, and several Master Theses. She participated in more than 30 Jury of Academic Examinations, such as PhD, Master's or International Assessments, was a member of the evaluation committee of applications, in the area of Design, submitted to the Individual I&DT for funding under the QREN Program - Strategic Reference Framework At the request of the Innovation Agency in 2012. In 2016, at the invitation of the Municipality of Santarém and Greenfest, he was a member of the jury of the Carlos Barbosa Prize for "Sustainability and Welfare" and in 2017, at the invitation of the IEFP was member of the Evaluation Committee of National Handicraft Prize. Participated in more than 10 Scientific Committees of Confer, Workshops and other scientific meetings, national and international. It has already organized 1 International Conference and several scientific events. She collaborates regularly with Scientific and Editorial Committees of specialized journals such as Elsevier's Journal of Business Research. She is invited to make communications in various forums in the thematic areas of Creativity, Design, Innovation and Sustainability. In 2015, he was awarded the IADE-U Research and Teaching Award 2015 and in 2017, the Coordination of the "L3 - Lisbon Common Learning Laboratory" Project was honoured with Laureate International "Here for Good 2017" Honorary Prize Universities, the only one to represent Portugal, and the dissemination of the same project in Laureate's Annual Global Impact Report.
